Overview
The YBM prefabricated box substation is a factory-built compact assembly that combines HV switchgear, a distribution transformer and LV switchgear. It receives and distributes power in distribution systems and offers a small footprint, low cost and safe operation. The product complies with GB 17467—1998 (High-voltage/low-voltage prefabricated substations) and IEC 1330; being small, compact and easy to relocate, it shortens construction schedules and reduces both site area and civil works cost.
Construction
- Constituent units: HV switchgear, power transformer, LV switchgear, control and protection devices and the enclosure; each unit has its own control, protection, live-line indication and lighting systems.
- Enclosure: the complete assembly is installed in a fully enclosed steel housing that is damp-proof, rust-proof, dust-proof, rodent-proof, fire-resistant, theft-resistant and thermally insulated.
- Installation on site is simple and supply is available quickly; maintenance is straightforward and no permanent attendant is required, so the substation can be placed close to the load centre.
- The substation carries out transformation, distribution, transmission, metering and compensation of electrical energy together with system control, protection and communication.
Application value
Because the box substation can be sited deep inside the load centre, it improves supply quality, cuts energy losses and supports distribution-network refurbishment — suitable for both new-build and retrofit projects in urban networks.
