Overview
GGD switchgear is used by power plants, substations and industrial and mining enterprises in distribution systems at 50 Hz, a rated operating voltage of 380 V and rated currents up to 3150 A, for the conversion, distribution and control of power supplied to drives, lighting and distribution equipment. It offers high breaking capacity, good dynamic and thermal stability, flexible electrical schemes, easy combination, a wide and practical range, a modern structure and a high degree of protection.
Construction
- Rigid frame: the structure is assembled from 8MF cold-formed steel sections with local welding; parts follow a modular design and the frame carries evenly spaced E = 20 mm mounting holes, giving a high degree of standardisation.
- Efficient cooling: ventilation slots at the top and bottom of the enclosure let heat escape through the upper openings while cool air enters below, forming a natural convection duct that solves the cooling problem of enclosed switchgear.
- Earthing: instrument doors carrying components are bonded to the frame with stranded copper braid and a dedicated earthing busbar runs along the base, so the complete cubicle forms an uninterrupted protective earth circuit.
- Easy assembly: the removable top cover simplifies fitting and adjusting the main busbar on site, and four lifting eyes at the top corners ease handling and transport.
- Degree of protection: IP30 as standard, selectable between IP20 and IP40 according to the service environment.
Service conditions
- Ambient temperature: between -5 °C and +40 °C, with a 24-hour average not above +35 °C.
- Altitude: not exceeding 2000 m; above this the assembly must be derated as required by the standard.
- Humidity: relative humidity not above 50% at +40 °C; at lower temperatures (for example +20 °C) the monthly average may reach 90%, so ventilation or heating must be provided against condensation.
- Installation: tilt from the vertical not exceeding 5°; install in a location free from fire and explosion hazards, corrosive gases, conductive dust and severe vibration or shock.
- Special requirements: state highly corrosive atmospheres, high altitudes and similar conditions at the order stage so that special treatment can be applied.
