SBH15-M Sealed Amorphous-Alloy Power Transformer

The SBH15-M is a fully oil-filled sealed power transformer that works like any sealed unit, except that its core is made of amorphous alloy. It is built to JB/T 10318-2002, the technical-parameter standard for oil-immersed amorphous-alloy-core distribution transformers.

Product overview

Fully oil-filled sealed amorphous-alloy power transformer: no-load loss 70% below the GB/T 6451 group I values and load loss 15% below standard.

Product overview

The fully oil-filled sealed construction keeps the insulating oil completely isolated from the surrounding air, so no oil top-up and no breather maintenance are needed. The core is wound from amorphous alloy strip and combined with optimised windings and clamping structure, so the reliability of a sealed transformer is kept while no-load loss falls sharply.

The amorphous alloy material

  • Its base elements are iron, nickel, cobalt, silicon, boron and carbon; it is an isotropic soft magnetic material with low magnetising power.
  • It has no structural defects to impede domain-wall motion; the strip is only 0.027 mm thick, so the stacking factor is correspondingly low at 0.75–0.8.
  • Resistivity is very high — 3–6 times that of silicon steel sheet — and hardness is 5 times that of silicon steel laminations.
  • Amorphous alloy is particularly sensitive to mechanical stress, which the core structure and assembly process are designed to protect against.

Loss levels and standards

Across the SBH15-M-30~1600/6~10 range, load loss is 15% below the GB/T 6451 values and no-load loss 70% below the GB/T 6451 group I values. The applicable standard is JB/T 10318-2002, Technical parameters for oil-immersed amorphous-alloy-core distribution transformers.
